How It Works
01 — Book Your Session
Choose your Garden Guidance package and select an available appointment.
You’ll receive a short questionnaire before your consultation so we can learn about your garden, your goals, and the questions you’d like answered.
02 — Prepare Your Questions
You don’t need to prepare a presentation or have everything figured out.
Bring your questions, ideas, photos, plant tags, garden sketches—or simply show us what you’re working with.
The more we understand about your goals, the more useful your consultation will be.
03 — We Walk the Garden Together
We’ll meet you at your property and walk the space together.
We’ll observe the garden, discuss what’s working and what isn’t, and identify opportunities based on your priorities.
This is a collaborative conversation—not a formal inspection.
04 — Leave With Direction
You’ll leave your consultation with practical recommendations and a clearer understanding of what to do next.
If you’ve selected Garden Guidance + Action Plan, we’ll follow up with your personalized written recommendations.
Garden Guidance FAQ
Is this a garden design service?
No.
Garden Guidance is a consultation and advisory service. It is designed to provide expert recommendations and direction rather than a detailed garden layout.
If you’d like a customized planting plan or complete garden design, the Garden Blueprint is the better option.
Do I need to know what I want to grow?
Not at all.
You can come with a very specific question—or simply say, “I don’t know what to do with this space.”
We’ll help you explore the possibilities.
Can you help me choose plants?
Yes.
We’ll recommend plants based on your growing conditions, goals, preferences, and the characteristics of your space.
Plant availability and suitability can vary by season and location.
Can you identify a plant problem?
We can help you troubleshoot common garden issues based on what we observe and what you tell us.
However, Garden Guidance does not include laboratory soil testing, professional plant pathology, pest laboratory identification, arboricultural assessments, or other specialized diagnostic services.
If we believe your situation requires a specialist, we’ll tell you.
Do you provide a plant list?
A basic list of suggested plants may be included when appropriate.
If you want a comprehensive, customized plant palette and placement plan, we recommend the Garden Blueprint.
Do you install gardens?
Garden Guidance does not include installation, construction, soil remediation, irrigation installation, or garden maintenance.
These services may be available separately depending on project scope and location.
Can you come back for another consultation?
Absolutely.
Many gardens benefit from ongoing guidance as the seasons change.
You can book another Garden Guidance session whenever you need additional support.
Can I use Garden Guidance to plan a vegetable garden?
Yes.
We can help with vegetable selection, seasonal timing, garden placement, spacing, companion planting, and general growing strategy.
Can you help with edible landscaping?
Yes.
We can discuss ways to incorporate food-producing plants into an existing landscape, including herbs, fruiting plants, edible flowers, vegetables, and other useful plants.
For a complete edible landscape design, we recommend a Garden Blueprint.
Can medicinal plants be included?
Yes, when appropriate.
We can discuss gardening and cultivation of medicinal and traditionally useful plants.
Crown & Cultivate provides horticultural guidance, not medical advice. Plant recommendations should not be interpreted as diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of a medical condition.
What happens if it rains?
Gardens don’t always wait for perfect weather.
Light rain generally won’t prevent a consultation. If weather conditions make an on-site visit unsafe or impractical, we’ll work with you to reschedule.
What should I do before you arrive?
Nothing major.
If possible, make sure we can safely access the garden and have access to areas you’d like us to discuss.
It can also be helpful to have a list of your questions ready.
You do not need to weed, clean up, or make your garden look perfect beforehand.
We want to see the garden as it actually is.
